Promethean Adds Equation Editing Support to ActivInspire

We're pleased to announce that our MathFlow™ equation editor is now part of Promethean's ActivInspire 1.6, enabling teachers to easily create and insert mathematical notation within a flipchart or with an ActivExpression V2. There has been tremendous growth of interactive devices and whiteboards in the classroom, and we're happy to be working with Promethean and glad that our math-enabling technologies have become such an important part of many high-quality teaching and learning products. Our technologies for editing, display and speaking math enhance many of the most popular software products in the world.

MathFlow is Design Science's family of products providing editing, display, and accessibility of mathematical notation for websites, applications, and services. MathFlow components are widely used in education, publishing, and enterprise solutions, as well as commercial products. The technology at the heart of MathFlow is MathML, the XML standard for representing mathematical notation. Since our flagship product MathType also uses MathML, this means that most of the over 500 software applications and websites that work with MathType will also now work with ActivInspire. Oxygen XML Editor 11 adds MathFlow support

Do you use Oxygen XML Editor or XML Author? To our pleasure the latest release of Oxygen XML Editor and Author introduces MathFlow support. MathFlow adds powerful MathML editing capabilities to the Oxygen XML suite, including features such as a customizable toolbar, default font settings, and a customizable operator dictionary. Oxygen's integration works with all three MathFlow editors, allowing you to choose the right one based on the needs of your project.

Design Science to Support MathML-to-SVG for EPUB Ebooks

We just announced that we are developing a new MathML-to-SVG component as part of our MathFlow product line. Publishers in the STEM marketplace (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) have rapidly moved to the EPUB format standard because of its open licensing and comprehensive feature set. In particular, mathematical equations are formatted using SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) and embedded fonts to produce excellent quality on screen as well as print. This new MathFlow component will be helpful in creating publisher workflows for EPUB and other formats.

MathFlow Components and SDK now available for custom enterprise and OEM solutions

We have just announced the release of the MathFlow Components and SDK, for editing, display, and accessibility of mathematical notation for websites, applications and services. MathFlow Components and SDK replace the company's WebEQ product and are an addition to its MathFlow product line that includes MathFlow for Arbortext and XMetaL. The technology at the heart of MathFlow is MathML, the XML standard for representing mathematical notation.

Design Science software certified as FDCC compliant

In accordance with OMB Memo m07-18, Design Science has tested MathType 6.0c, MathFlow 1.7, and MathPlayer 2.1b with the Security Configuration Automation Protocol using Secutor Prime by Threat Guard. We have certified these 3 software products as being compliant with the Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC), which is an OMB-mandated security configuration that exists for Microsoft Windows Vista and XP operating system software.
