Do your research with a computer algebra system, present it with MathType
Mathematicians and scientists in many diverse fields such as aeronautics, epidemiology, and macroeconomics use computer algebra systems (CAS) to record and analyze their work. CAS applications such as Maple, Sage, and Mathematica are powerful tools for visualizing your research, but when you have to collaborate with others or present your work, it can pose a real challenge. Word processor and presentation software like Microsoft Word and PowerPoint don't have the ability to understand equations from a CAS, so we built special capability into MathType 6.7 to allow such interaction. This saves time and helps avoid mistakes such as transposing terms, dropping a digit, or other errors that might not get noticed until you present your work.
MathType works great with these leading CAS apps: Maple, Mathematica, Macsyma, and Sage. We have a detailed list of CAS software on our website, but most of them do not provide the level of interoperability with MathType that you'll see in these four. Check the list, and If you're using a computer algebra system that doesn't work well with MathType, contact your CAS support team to let them know you need this capability. They appreciate customer feedback, just like we do.
Speaking of customer feedback, we'd like to hear about your experiences using a CAS with MathType. Leave a comment below to let us know what worked and what didn't, or if you have a suggestion for helping us make MathType even better.
